A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, April 9, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm, with Rev. Fr. Fred Method celebrating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 PM and will continue for one hour prior to the mass at the church on Friday. (A reminder of the service time will be published on April 6th) Interment will follow in Chisholm Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm.

Mary C. Sinko, age 100, of Chisholm, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm. She was born May 12, 1909 in Hibbing, MN to Andrew and Anna (Las) Stalmah. She grew up in Virden, IL returning to Chisholm after her marriage.

Mary was united in marriage on April 25, 1936 in Virden, IL to John L. Sinko. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church as well as the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters, the Slovenian Women’s Union, The Chisholm Garden Club, the Lake Street Senior Citizens, the Catholic Council of Women and the AARP.

Survivors include her children – Shirley Sinko of Chisholm; Louie (Bonnie) of Elk River, MN; Julie (Bernard) Harding of Lago Vista, TX; Jane (Michael) Sander of Thousand Oaks, CA; 5 grandchildren- Kathleen Sander, Charles Harding, Danielle Sander-Patnode, Janel Wilder and Bernadette Priest; 4 great-grandchildren; sister – Margaret (Al) Codron of Auburn, IL; numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – John L. on 11/11/88, and by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
